Share your ideas and inspiration!
Help us breathe life into a magnificent “destination in the making” by participating in the New Presidio Parklands ideaSFest – a celebration of creative thinking, originality, and fun!
Share your design ideas for this new public landscape and your vision for the activities and experiences that will unfold there. We invite artists, writers, creators, designers, educators, and deep thinkers of all ages to express perspectives in a number of ways.
Paint, draw, or sculpt your inspiration, then send us a photo of your work. What gardens can you imagine? How will a sunset frame the new parklands at dusk? Your artistic point of view could help to inspire a new vista or landscape.
Educate and entertain! Email your ideas for public and educational programs that leverage the ecological, military, and Spanish history of the site. What ethnic or cultural activities are enhanced by the iconic views of San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge?
Photograph, animate, or even AutoCad the experiences you’d like to see. Create an animated GIF of a “fog experience,” or show us how you’d position an outdoor amphitheater.
Let the amazing views inspire a poem or essay. Write a short story about how you’d spend your day at this new landscape. Visit the bluff top and let the spectacular 360-degree view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the Main Post inspire you.
Winds at the site range from whisper to roar – what original music or song does that inspire from you? Can you recreate the experience through dance? Create and submit a video of your creation.
All submissions will be shared with project team leadership. Your submission may be the one that inspires a new overlook, landscape, or program!
Select submissions will receive special recognition in this virtual gallery and in the New Presidio Parklands Gallery Exhibition located at 103 Montgomery Street at the Presidio’s Main Post.
Not the creative type? We’ve got you covered. For those who would like to express their opinions and ideas more traditionally, please visit our Project Feedback section to share your preferences and opinions directly with the project team.
